Over recent years, cruising facilities generally for the physically challenged have improved.
Cruise lines are aware of their obligations to provide adequate facilities for disabled passengers
and most major lines have invested heavily in providing excellent features to ensure a hassle-free
experience. When choosing a cruise for the physically challenged it is important to research the
options with our trained staff and choose a ship that provides the right facilities for your
individual needs.

Wheelchair friendly cabins
Specially designed cabins for the disabled vary in quality of design and
facilities - depending on the ship and Cruise Line. These cabins usually have
wider entrances for wheelchairs with no lip and are more spacious to allow
freer movement for wheelchairs. Facilities such as phones and rails are fitted
lower than normal to make handling easier at wheelchair height.
Bedside "panic" button or phone.
Adapted bathroom / wet room vary in design and facilities but many features
are standard such as no "lip" at bathroom or shower stall.
Shower chair that folds up when not in use.
Washbasin low enough for wheelchair to get in close for easy use.
Most disabled cabins are positioned close to the ship's lift system.

On-Board ship facilities
To enhance the cruising experience for the physically challenged some ships
have opted for additionally facilities, such as pool hoists.
For dining, most wheelchair guests are allocated tables close to the
restaurants entrance to avoid negotiating round other tables.
When taking in a show - most ships have a disabled parking area.
